Electrical BIM Detailer - Helix Electric - San Diego



Helix Electric is interested in finding someone with the right work experience combined with solid knowledge of Revit MEP.


Position description:
Electrical Detailer will produce electrical BIM models, submittal drawings, field installation drawings, schedules and take offs for prefabrication, and will actively participate in the BIM coordination meetings with the other trades.

Position requirements:
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP 2010 or newer and NavisWorks 2010 or newer
  • Knowledge of Revit MEP 2011 or newer preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of electrical concepts, installations means and methods, electrical and building codes requirements
  • Field experience preferred
  • Understanding of project documentation and BIM concepts
  • Ability to identify cost savings and prefabrication opportunities
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience with an electrical or plumbing contractor

BIM Specialist - Gensler - New York

The BIM Specialist for the New York Office is a multifaceted job and focuses on the areas of Revit and AutoCAD technical support, training, 2D and 3D family creation, Revit implementation strategizing with project teams, and research and development.



Responsibilities
  • Responsible for BIM (Revit) and CAD (AutoCAD) support for the office.
  • Train staff on BIM applications, primarily Revit, for full day classes, Lunch and Learns, and one-on-one sessions.
  • Collaborate with local teams to ensure Revit success working with both internal and external teams.
  • Provide ongoing Revit support and participate in internal office, regional and firm-wide Revit discussion forums.
  • Strategize with project teams regarding project startup and set-up, model construction methods, best methods for working with outside parties, etc.
  • Assist in content, family and detail library development as well as template file management.
  • Working with the New York IT team to ensure technology needs are being met from all sides.
Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk Revit Architecture and related BIM software.
  • Solid understanding of CAD applications and best practices, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with design applications such as 3D Studio Max (and Mental Ray and/or VRay), SketchUp, Navisworks, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent, with three to five years experience in design and/or construction practice preferred.
  • Articulate communicator, able to convey BIM concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership.
  • Punctual, able to adhere to deadlines, and have a strong work ethic.

As a CAD/BIM Technician in our team, you will be producing Project and Construction documents in coordination, not only with the design team within KPFF, but as well as the Architect, MEP, Contractor, and/or Owner. CAD/BIM Technicians will have the opportunity to work on various project types and sizes such as; healthcare, education, housing/hospitality, airports, commercial, and seismic analysis and retrofit.

Ideal Candidates shall meet the following requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in the Architectural/Structural Field.
  • General knowledge in Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Wood Construction.

BIM/3D Project Support Coordinator - Smith Seckman Reid - Houston, TX

Smith Seckman Reid's Houston, TX office is looking for one BIM/3D Project Support Coordinator.


General Responsibilities:

  • Under the general direction of the BIM Program Manager, the BIM/3D Project Support Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of the overall Building Information Modeling (BIM) process as it relates to software application and project support.
  • Regularly engages with design teams to train staff, enhance project performance and generally support the users.
  • Works diligently to improve the dynamics of the BIM initiative through testing and implementation of application upgrades.
  •  Performs other BIM application related tasks as necessary to maintain optimal performance of the process.

Other responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
  1. Understands and embraces the firm’s vision for the implementation and optimization of building information modeling (BIM) within all aspects of the firm’s services and market sectors.
  2. Communicates among all parties within the firm, division or teams involved with use of the BIM/3D application to keep everyone informed of changes, updates, etc.
  3. Troubleshoots application issues and communicates solution to the users and logs issue into a database for future reference.
  4. Outlines application profile and setup for installation on BIM workstations to maintain consistency and optimization.
  5. Coordinates and conducts ongoing BIM/3D training for operators at all levels of experience.
  6. Investigate items of significance to the BIM application and keeps abreast of current trends in the computer/BIM industry.
  7. Maintains all aspects of plotting for BIM models and documents in regards to optimization of plotting solutions. Communicates with IT group any plotting needs including hardware, software, licensing and maintenance.
  8. Assists in the implementation of a documented process for the production of 3D modeling as part of the delivery of engineering services.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. A technical school graduate with 8 years of related experience or a college graduate with 4 years of related experience
  2. Thorough knowledge of CAD-based software, 3D modeling, BIM, REVIT,Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) and General knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies
