BIM Specialist - Cannon Design - North America

Cannon Design, a leading international design firm offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced BIM Specialist in a dynamic, team-focused work environment. This position may be filled in any of our North America locations.


Responsibilities Include:
  • Working with the Design Technology team, provide active leadership in BIM implementation strategy.
  • Develop and implement digital design and delivery process improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support for all BIM applications and work closely with Design Technology Manager and Design Technology team to guide the transition from traditional CAD practices and deliverables into more integrated design, modeling and analysis.
  • Research new design applications for inclusion in software portfolio.
  • Educate office leadership and operations in the use and impact of BIM tools on projects.
  • Work closely with senior technical staff to integrate new concepts in digital practice with project delivery.
  • Mentor local Revit leadership, develop project specific implementation strategies and collaborate with project teams to insure BIM success.
  • Evaluate project team development and identify new leaders to extend support network, provide feedback and grow the pool of talent firm-wide.
  • Assist teams at the onset of their project to manage expectations for deliverables and digital project plan to meet project goals.
  • Oversee and monitor projects to offer advice and guidance when appropriate.
  • Identify application development opportunities to create further team efficiencies.
  • Provide ongoing Revit support and moderate internal Revit discussions.
  • Maintain BIM standards and design templates to ensure quality and consistency of design environment and deliverables.
  • Standardize and document Revit workflows and best practices.
  • Work with teams to define workflow for design, rendering and presentation using multiple design applications.
  • Assist in the continuing development of training support materials and advanced training classes. Conduct training classes
  • Coordinate the development of existing Revit content and detail libraries.
  • Participate in multi-office collaboration efforts to support project implementation strategies, grow team expertise and ensure project success.
  • Pursue and continue with established relationships with BIM application developers.
  • Strategize and organize software deployments and software upgrades.
  • Provide direction and assistance in configuring network resources and deployments.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Minimum four-year professional degree in an AEIP discipline.
  • A minimum of two years experience in BIM/Revit (Architecture, MEP or Structural).
  • The ability to work with large teams.
