Software Application Support Specialist - CA

Job Description
  • Troubleshoot application issues related to construction industry (AutoCAD, Revit, Navis, Ansys, user data, file corruption, specialty applications, etc.) in support of 300+ internal employees
  • License procurement, implementation strategy, management, installation, documentation
  • Install, configure, upgrade, maintenance of business applications
  • Create scripts (Batch files, VBScript, proprietary macro languages, etc) for application administration & end user automation
  • Database support – Implementation, Security, Maintenance, User Accounts, Backup/Recovery, Performance tuning.
  • Experience in supporting 24 X 7 environments. Work as part of a team to provide 7x24 support as needed
  • Documentation of processes & procedures, installations, licenses
  • Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solutions for business applications
  • Understands the reporting and tracking requirements of internal groups and implements solutions to meet these requirements
  • Ability to drive discussions, understand business issues and problem escalations.

  • Familiar with SQL Administration and client tools
  • Experience in SQL replication and slave setup

  • Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent in solving complex technical and business problems
  • Ability to challenge ideas with experience and derive optimal solutions

Required Experience
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • History of supporting specialty business applications
  • Familiar with IT infrastructure, servers
  • 4+ years of experience in application and database support
