BIM Manager - Lake Flato Architects - TX

Lake|Flato Architects is a nationally recognized architectural design firm based in San Antonio, Texas. We are seeking a BIM Manager to provide support and education for users of Revit Architecture at the firm. The primary responsibility of L|F’s BIM Manager is to maintain our current BIM structure, facilitate consistency across project types, implement staff development training, and promote the effective and efficient use of BIM on all projects.

Qualifications Include
  • Bachelor of Architecture
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the AEC industry, preferably in an architectural office
  • Minimum five years of experience working in Revit Architecture in a production, administrative and/or support capacity on projects
  • Must possess expert knowledge in Revit Family creation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of professional architectural services from master planning and schematic design through
    construction documents and construction administration, including design and technical experience
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be highly organized
  • Must have teaching and mentoring experience for in house training
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to prioritize Must be a team-player and able to adapt to various team structures working independently and as part of a larger group
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and rendering software are preferred
  • Experience with Newforma, Navisworks, Lumion and Green Building Studio preferred
  • Knowledge of API customization preferred
Responsibilities Include
  • Develop, document and communicate best practices of BIM technologies, including model sharing and coordination with other discipline
  • Instruct/assist project teams to properly set up their models to comply with office standards and best practices
  • Manage Revit standards, family content, and office templates
  • Engage with project teams to strategize, employ and maintain an effective BIM strategy for project deliverables
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for beginners and continuing education for users of all levels
  • Work with internal sustainability team to integrate effective sustainability software into office, particularly interfacing with Revit (i.e. IES, Autodesk Green Building Studio & Vasari)
  • Coordinate Autodesk software updates and software serve packs

BIM Manager – Amenta|Emma Architects – CT

The Hartford office of Amenta|Emma is seeking a Building Information Model expert to lead successful management of BIM production, workflows and standards to support their growing firm in projects around the country. They are seeking qualified candidates who have demonstrated capacity for a high level of BIM Management responsibility to lead and support our staff.

Overall Description
  • Provide Revit/BIM Management, leadership and support for the firm’s design projects for our Hartford and Stamford office locations
  • Work closely with the project team BIM Coordinator on developing project execution and implementation plans, project start-up methods and workflow strategies
  • Assist project teams with advanced Revit modeling requirements, content creation and coordination efforts
  • Manage, organize and optimize detail and family libraries for use between projects
  • Review projects with BIM Coordinators to ensure compliance with Quality of Documents Standards in coordination with the Director of Technical Production
  • Assist troubleshooting and resolving Revit/BIM application issues
  • Provide Revit/BIM training to current staff and new hires
  • Review and implement new versions of software and develop customized deployments
  • Starting new projects with the correct templates for the team’s use
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a BIM Management role
  • Experience with a BIM Execution plan and providing a detailed modeling plan for each design phase
  • Expert level of knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Revit project workflows and Navisworks
  • Collaborative project management with multiple design teams/office that involved model integration
  • Played a role in project coordination, clash detection and remediation
  • Familiarity with model visualization – using Revit as a base point for rendering/animations in 3ds Max, Autodesk 360, etc
  • A working knowledge of analysis of models that vary from solar studies (Autodesk Green Building Studio, etc.) to quantity take-offs
Desired Skills
  • A working knowledge of cloud computing and networking to facilitate coordination with cloud service provider for IT issues
  • Coordinate with local IT Manager for localized IT issues
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot VOIP, Internet and Network issues
  • A working knowledge of software installation and deployments, to facilitate review and implementation of new versions or updates of non-operating software updates and implement/deploy new software purchases
  • Review and maintain file server related to disk space and performance optimization
  • Manage server file back-ups and hardware. Provide troubleshooting for hardware
  • Research and recommend new software for increased productivity of firm
  • Research, purchasing and installation of new hardware and/or equipment
  • Set-up and deployment of new hire workstations
