We have an immediate opening for a Plumbing Designer within our Facilities Science and Technology team in our Colorado Springs or Denver, CO office. Qualified candidates will assume multi-project responsibilities for plumbing, fire protection, and specialty piping system engineering and design for buildings including healthcare, commercial, industrial and educational facilities. Candidate will actively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and application; preliminary schematics and final designs; calculations; equipment selection and layout; coordination with other production staff; preparation of accurate construction drawings and specifications; submittal review and construction administration. Candidate will interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors, and will maintain plumbing/piping design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality. This role will also provide quality control and mentoring to less experienced engineers. This role reports to an engineering manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities to help you grow.

Specific Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering is desirable, but not required.
- 5-15 years of professional experience in plumbing or piping design with knowledge of plumbing systems including a combination of waste and water systems, special waste systems, natural gas systems, medical gas systems, specialty lab gas systems and fire protection systems.
- Registered Professional Engineer, preferred but not required.
- ASPE CPDT/CPD certification, preferred
- Design experience relative to medium/large commercial and institutional facilities
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
