Production Coordinator - Mission Critical - ESD - Chicago - IL

Position Summary

The Production Coordinator is responsible for gathering the information needed to configure, coordinate, and maintain the project set-ups and deliverables for a project team. The Production Coordinator ensures that each project is setup properly, provides training to staff, enforces ESD drafting standards, and contributes to the firm-wide enhancement of CAD/BIM processes.
Essential duties and responsibilities

Set up projects for the team ensuring the objectives of the client and ESD/client standards are met by completing the following:
  • Send out project assignments to production partners
  • Process and update files received from client
  • Assist with project mark-ups
  • Plotting/printing files for upper other team members
  • Prepare project documents for all issuance
Support the project team by providing the following:
  • Ensure that the required project files, quality assurance and issuance records are completed successfully
  • Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations
  • Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including many departments within ESD
  • Attend project meetings as required
  • MEP production as required
Provide assistance and implementation of Group’s overall QA/QC compliance by executing the following:
  • Scan and archive all QA/QC documentation
  • Update and maintain QA/QC database
  • Create QA/QC monthly reports for Group TSS
Provide CAD/BIM support by providing the following:
  • Follow ESD CAD/BIM Standards and assist in maintaining the standards and procedures
  • Assist the project team with any CAD/BIM issues
  • Administer checklist QA/QC on the project drawings
  • Maintain good communication with engineers to assure timely and efficient completion of jobs, proper communication of issues, and proper documentation for each project
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude
Qualifications / Skill-sets:
  • Possesses a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Understands MEP basics processes and AEC Industry standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills regarding projects, reports and other commitments; completes assignments in a quality and timely fashion; able to manage multiple priorities concurrently; is punctual and dependable
  • Possess experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem resolution, and trouble shooting skills
  • Possess very strong organizational skills with attention given to detail and accuracy
  • Possess a personal sense of urgency and initiative and the ability to drive tasks to completion
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and can confidently interact with clients, vendors and co-workers
  • Maintains a positive, self-motivated, can-do attitude and work ethic with attention given to details
  • Possess the leadership skills that make for a sought-after project team member
  • Able to adapt to new technology quickly
Education / Certification / Experience:
  • A minimum of Associate Degree with 2 years of relevant AE experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in AEC related field (preferred)
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (preferred)
  • Working experience in AE field (preferred)
