This is an opportunity to join us to train and support BIM users in all our offices in the use and application of BIM related software including but not limited to Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP.
The major areas that you will be involved with include:

  • Develop and customise in-house training programs
  • Training staff in the use and application of Autodesk, Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP
  • Support users on projects

To be successful in this position you will need to be able to demonstrate at least the following knowledge & skills:

  • Minimum 4 years Revit training in AEC multi disciplinary firms and 3 years experience in implementing Revit on projects
  • Expert in Autodesk BIM software including Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP
  • Knowledge of the architectural and engineering design process

  • Autodesk Certified Instructor/Professional
  • Experience in training large groups an asset
  • Experience in the building design and construction phases

Education:

Digital Design Director - Philadelphia

Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, a nationally known architectural practice, is seeking a talented and creative Digital Design Director with experience in supporting efficient implementation, management and training related to digital design systems and software. This is a full-time firm-wide leadership position for all five of our offices. The Digital Design Director could be located in any of our offices, with regular visits to the other offices as required by position responsibilities. Job Function:
Firm-wide resource to oversee and support all issues related to the use of BIM and CAD software

Responsibilities:

  • Manage firm-wide digital design activities to leverage individual office expertise
  • Manage, schedule and lead in-house training and education seminars on pertinent software and useful techniques
  • Create deployments and coordinate updating software on user machines
  • Monitor usage and manage BIM/CAD software purchasing and licensing for all offices
  • Maintain organization of Revit related resources on server/intranet: folder hierarchy, family libraries, ConDoc text/notes list, training materials, etc.
  • Develop and refine standard firm-wide templates and assist in project startup to ensure that projects get started properly
  • Serve as a helpdesk resource for user troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Manage and Chair the firm’s Digital Design Committee with the intention of becoming lead contact for template refinement and related issues.
  • Take a leadership role in evaluating new or upcoming software that may aid architects in the design process - GBS, Ecotect, SketchUp, V-Ray, 3DS Max, Rhino, Generative Components, etc.
  • Help to create and establish a firm-wide Revit user manual
  • Manage version updates (1 per yr) and build updates (4 per year)
  • Act as the firm-wide resource for sharing lessons learned from actual project experience 
  • Coordinate digital design hardware and network requirements with IT staff.
  • Create and monitor digital design software budgets
Skills and qualities:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Industrial Design preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a design firm environment
  • Expert knowledge of Revit, Autocad, Microstation and other similar software
  • Experience with 3D software (3DS Max, Rhino, Ecotect, etc.)
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Experience in training and educating staff on software use
  • Strong communication skills, time management, and self-driven work ethic
The Digital Design Director position is not and will not lead to an architectural staff position. No freelancers or contractors will be considered. This is a full-time position only.
