BIM VDC Coordinator - Wight & Company - Darien - IL

We have a tremendous opportunity for a BIM/Virtual Design & Construction (VDC)Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have foresight of future trends in software applications and be on the forefront of current software.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Director of Integrated Technology.
  • Contribute to/advance the adoption of BIM standards.
  • Train staff in Revit, including standards and best practices (Architecture, Interiors, MEP, Structural).
  • Assist teams with BIM Execution Planning at project kickoff and major milestones.
  • Troubleshoot Revit issues.
  • Assist project Teams with complex Revit setup/modeling requirements.
  • Build Revit families and manage Revit library.
  • Plan/implement variety of BIM/VDC processes throughout the project lifecycle, including visualization, modeling, virtual mock-ups. Model-based takeoffs, 3D coordination logistics and 4D staging diagrams.
  • Consult with contractors, designers, engineers and consultants to establish/maintain file management & BIM protocols required for effective coordination.
  • Lead clash coordination meetings.
  • Research/Develop new ways to utilize BIM information to enhance projects through stages of design/construction.
  • OPTIONAL – join the Wight DRONE team to PILOT drone for project photography and photogrammetry.

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Drafting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ Revit experience, preferably in a multi-discipline office.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) & Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technology is required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to produce high quality work with minimal oversite in a collaborate, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for experimenting with new software and processes to enhance design & construction workflows.
  • Can work easily with others, has good communication skills and a sense of humor.

Site Design CAD Specialist - LPA - Irvine - CA

The Site Design CAD Specialist is an integral part of the LPA design technology team and works closely with project teams throughout the company. Network Administrator - LPA - Irvine - CA

LPA is seeking a Network Administrator to join our integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and master planners. As a member of Inspire Design (ID), our technology team, and participant in our uniquely collaborative design process, you will research, develop and implement information technologies that inspire the design process.
