Revit Application Developer - Analysis

A start up firm is looking for an experienced Revit programmer to help them build an analysis plugin for Revit. They want someone with proven experience creating or possibly at least a very key part of building designing (or can prove they can build) a complex analysis plugin for Revit using the API.

You are a person who is willing to be part of their team for the long term as they grow and develop. Please keep in mind that the company has worked with highly skilled programmers in the past, however they were not knowledgeable about/with Revit. As a result they were not as successful as they'd hoped. In this case, they are hoping that the readers of this blog will be the right fit for them!

The work can be done remotely, but they require that the you are located in the U.S. and have a very strong grasp of written and spoken English. They prefer that you are located in the northeastern U.S.A. That's because, ideally they'd want to easily meet with you in person on a somewhat regular basis. That means, for the right person (you?) and situation, remote work is still a viable option.

If you think you are THE person they seek. You can get additional information by reaching out to Nathan via EMAIL.

Revit Technology Conference - AUS 2012

This post playing time traveler, dropping back in time to Monday (May 22). I was on a United 747-400 heading to Sydney when Monday happened at home in the USA. A curious side effect of travel west to Australia is you lose a day. Sydney is 17 hours ahead of the west coast of the USA. So when I boarded my flight on Sunday night at 9:45 PM it was already 2:45 PM in Sydney, but tomorrow (Monday). By the time I landed in Sydney Monday already turned into Tuesday morning. This means I lost Monday, missed my son Jake's birthday and didn't post anything here. I could have set something up to post while I was traveling but that would mean I was better prepared, I wasn't. I digress...

It's that time of year again, RTC is here. First up is the conference in Wollongong (aka The Gong and 90 minutes SE of Sydney). VisDay is a new event focused on visualization technology. The Chairman is Dan Jurgens and he's worked hard to assemble a quality group of presentations. The RTC conference begins on Thursday May 24th and VisDay is the "warm up" act, to use a concert metaphor. VisDay gathers (gathered) on Wednesday May 23rd. Writing about what will happen when it just happened is a bit odd...

Tonight I'm polishing my presentation about What's New in Revit Architecture 2013. Each year I feel like there isn't enough new stuff to make me happy. Then I write up this presentation and I find it takes a lot of effort to scratch the surface in a modest way. This year is no different. There are some big ticket items that attract attention but there a numerous other and more subtle features that contribute to a fairly long list of things to speak about. That will happen just after lunch on Thursday May 24th (tomorrow as I write this).

The event in Australia is upon us. You can still attend technically, assuming you can (a) get here, (b) make the time and (c) act fast!! Join the 400 or so others revving up for three days of Revit and BIM technical sessions and discussions.

There is just over a month until the RTCUSA starts in Stone Mountain, GA on June 28-30, 2012. Don't miss it!

Revit Structure Position Wanted - TX

I was contacted recently by a person with ten years of structural detailing experience. The motivation for making a change is being driven by a desire to get to use Revit Structure. He is convinced that it's the direction he wants to take and he recently chose to undertake and complete a three day training class with ECAD in Houston on his own dime.

If your firm is interested in a motivated (even bi-lingual) guy that will combine his experience with his desire to keep moving forward with technology let me know and I'll make the introduction. He is currently in the greater Houston area and would like to stay in the area but he is open to considering a compelling opportunity elsewhere.

Revit Programmer

I've been contacted about an opportunity for a Revit savvy programmer. It is a short term assignment to create a single application (to manage creating local files) but the right person could find themselves with more work or possibly a full time gig, if that's attractive. The firm is international but the primary people you'll work with for this gig are in the USA.

Let me know if you are interested in tackling the assignment and I'll make the introductions. You will be asked to respond to their RFP (request for proposal).

The first test is to see if you can figure out how to contact me. ;)

Got Guru's? Revit Gurus That Is

Do you need a serious Revit Guru? I usually find out that a guru I know was looking for new gig after the fact, when they tell me where they are working now. This time I not only know beforehand I know about two!

If you are in the Pacific Northwest USA and are looking let me know, I might have a good match for you.

If you are in Southern California (LA area), the other guy might hesitate to call himself a guru but he's been working on sizable Revit projects for several years now so he's no slouch. He probably would be happiest as a key team member on your big difficult project versus running the whole office "show".

Interested in learning more about them? Send me a EMAIL and I'll connect the dots.

Use the subject: Revit Guru
