Revit Structure BIM/CAD Specialist (Columbus, OH)

SMBH, Inc. is seeking a full-time Revit Structure BIM Specialist with 2+ years of experience in creating models of building structures using Revit to fill an open position as a BIM Specialist in Columbus, OH

Your Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following duties:

• Quickly and efficiently building accurate 3D models of building structures using Autodesk Revit Structure.
• Create high quality construction drawings of building structures using AutoCAD and Revit Structure.
• Reading and understanding construction drawings and redline mark-ups of building structures
• Understanding building construction, and structural engineering terminology
• Communicating well with clients and coworkers
• Coordinating the Revit Structure model with clients and other consultants
• Respectfully working with clients and other employees in our office

You should have a minimum of two years of experience or training modeling buildings using Revit, or two years of experience drawing building structures with AutoCAD and a strong desire and aptitude to learn Revit Structure. Naturally, it is necessary to have a strong working knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. You must also be able to legally work in the United States.

Shoemaker & Haaland Professional Engineers has an immediate opportunity for a Structural Revit Designer in our Coralville, Iowa office.

Applicants should have either:

1. Two years of experience using Autodesk Revit to produce structural plans for the industrial sector...or...
2. Completed or be on pace to graduate in May 2014 with an Associate of Arts from an accredited Architectural Technology program.

The successful candidate will work well in a team environment and perform the following:

• Provide arrangements and layouts based upon historical documents, field measurements, and owner’s data.
• Collaborate with structural engineer to incorporate redlines and complete construction documents.
• Develop sections, elevations, and details independently.
• Review shop drawings.
• Communicate effectively with clients and other office disciplines.
