Design Technologies Manager - LPA - CA

The Design Technologies Manager is a critical part of LPA’s Information and Technology team, which supports and develops the workflows and digital tools used by integrated design teams at LPA. This is accomplished through collaboration, with architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects, on the use of building information modeling (BIM), computer aided design (CAD) and project information management (PIM) platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Engage integrated design teams with development of interdisciplinary BIM strategies
  • Help develop, document and communicate interdisciplinary BIM Project Plans
  • Collaborate with integrated design teams to develop energy analysis workflows
  • Setup and monitor the effective development of CAD and BIM based projects
  • Create and direct organization of CAD and BIM content and templates
  • Research, evaluate and recommend emerging design technologies
  • Coordinate vendors, resellers and trainers
  • Optimizing remote office CAD and BIM experience.
Requirements
  • Work experience in a medium to large sized architectural, engineering or construction firm
  • Passion for great customer service
  • Expert knowledge of Revit Building Design Suite and content creation
  • Intermediate knowledge of SketchUp and AutoCAD
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proven ability to thrive in highly collaborative environments
  • Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects
  • Ability to conduct limited amounts of travel
Desired Skills
  • Experience in the practice of architecture or engineering
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D and 3DS Max Design
  • Experience with Newforma Project Center, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SpecLink-e, Ecotect and EnergyPro
  • Knowledge of software licensing.
  • Experience with aligning hardware and software requirements

We are currently seeking an entry-level draftsman for project document support. Duties will include producing equipment plans, utility plans, equipment elevations, details & equipment cutbooks.

BIM Modeler - PES Structural Engineers - Hartford - CT

PES Structural Engineers, Inc, a progressive 35-person structural engineering firm, is seeking full-time applicants for a BIM modeler position in its Hartford, CT office.

Responsibilities:

This position entails modeling of various structural systems for buildings under the direction of a Project Manager and/or the BIM Program Manager as described below:
  • Develop models for design documentation, coordination, and assembly
  • Produce models using Autodesk Revit and other BIM software applications
  • Preparation of Construction Documents and Shop Drawings
  • Ensure modeling is done accurately and in timely manner
  • Stay current and provide input on modeling best practices
  • Keep the Project Manager updated as to the status of assignments on a regular basis
  • Attend monthly firm Revit User Group meetings
Qualifications:
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit required
  • High attention to detail a must
