Revit User Looking for Midwest USA Work

My first post of a user looking for work!! I originally hoped to post such requests too but then realized that most users might be fearful that their current employer might see their post. It has come as no surprise since that I haven't received any until NOW! Here is some general information that he shared with me.

I am seeking new employment in and around the Midwest (USA). I will consider relocating beyond the Midwest. I would like to advance my career into a larger firm with more potential for advancement into a Revit like training module. At my current place of business I have been training our staff how to use Revit.

I have 10 years in the field as a carpenter, commercial trim & residential framer. I have worked on many commercial projects for clients like, Walgreens, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and others. I also spent 2 years as a counter top fabricator and installer. I have an associates degree in drafting.

For the last seven years I have been working as Cad Technician, using ADT for two years and Revit for five years. I have attended Autodesk University. I have been involved in many different projects types, from education, retail, governmental and industrial to name a few. For these projects I have modeled many different types of architectural styles using Revit along with related custom families. I have completed highly realistic renderings, 4D animations, stair shop drawings, structural documentation, architectural details, and PowerPoint presentations. I also have extensive experience using Total Station software for laying out buildings.

With my varied and extensive past field construction experience as well as my current technical Revit guru status, I feel that I would make a perfect fit into a Revit group.

He also wrote that he can provide images and other sample documentation upon request.

If you wish to contact him yourself directly or to have him contact you please send me an email via:

    CAD/BIM Manager - NYC

Cooper, Robertson & Partners is looking for a talented person to take on this challenging and interesting role in their firm.

    Description
The CAD / BIM Manager is responsible for working closely with the design staff to implement and further develop our firm's procedures and standards for architectural design software. Using our existing standards, the CAD / BIM manager provides upper-level support for organizing project data, developing custom procedures, and customizing software to make the most efficient use of the technology for project work. In developing new standards, the CAD / BIM manager works closely with the studio leads to produce firm-wide procedures and guidelines that conform with national standards, our firm's culture, and the emerging best practices. Importantly, as our firm continues to develop expertise in BIM projects (typically using Revit), the successful candidate will be guiding training and hands-on support for staff and projects new to BIM.

    Requirements
Since this position works closely with designers, a thorough knowledge of architectural practice and a keen eye for design are necessary. In some cases the CAD / BIM manager may be placed on projects where expert support is needed, so the CAD / BIM manager must have extensive experience producing architectural drawing sets or BIM models. A pleasant demeanor and the ability to work well with an established IT infrastructure are very important.

    Specific software skills
Autocad 2008, Revit 2009, 3ds Max 2009, Adobe Suite, and standard office software packages.

Thorough knowledge of the National CAD Standard, emerging BIM standards, computer rendering, and teaching skills. Experience in implementing BIM strategies on new projects is a must.

    About the firm
Based in New York City, Cooper, Robertson & Partners is an architecture and urban design firm providing design, programming, and development services to institutions, public agencies, private landowners, and property development clients. Founded in 1979 on the core conviction that architecture and urban design are inextricably connected, the firm has steadily grown from a company of six people to its current size of more than one hundred designers and support personnel engaged in the execution of major urban design and architectural commissions all over the world. Rather than being guided by abstract theories or a predetermined style, we tailor each project to its individual surroundings, its cultural roots, and to its program, schedule, and cost requirements. We have found this approach to be as appropriate to the single-family house as to the largest urban design projects. No building or design component is seen as separate from its immediate landscape and overall environment.

NOTES: This opportunity is available for US Residents Only.
Our firm has an excellent benefit package including 401k, Medical/Dental Insurance, vacation and sick time.
