CAD/BIM Manager - Gensler - NY & NJ

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the CAD/BIM management and support for the office
  • Train and Mentor staff on CAD/BIM Applications, primarily Revit and AutoCAD
  • Mentor local Revit leadership
  • Develop project specific implementation strategies
  • Collaborate with local teams to insure Revit success
  • Evaluate project team development and identify new leaders to extend local support, provide feedback and grow the pool of Revit talent firm-wide
  • Provide ongoing Revit support and moderate internal Revit discussion forums
  • Extend Gensler BIM standards and design templates to maintain quality and consistency of design environment and deliverables
  • Coordinate the expansion of existing Revit content and detail libraries
    Collaborate with Gensler offices worldwide to develop and support project implementation strategies, grow team expertise and ensure project success
  • Work with Firmwide and local resources to support AutoCAD-based projects and guide teams through the transition to a model based design process
  • Assist Project Teams at Project Startup. Assist teams in developing initial BIM/CAD Model
  • Assist the Office Technology Manager as needed, to provide basic IT support to office staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent, with three to five years experience in design or construction practice
  • Expert knowledge of and proven practical background in Autodesk Revit and related BIM software
  • Solid understanding of CAD applications and practices, particularly AutoCAD
    Familiarity with design applications such as 3D Studio Max, SketchUP, NavisWorks and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Articulate and persuasive communicator able to convey BIM concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership
  • Basic computer support skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who embraces change and constantly seeks out new opportunities for creativity and innovation
  • Sense of humor and an ability to have fun in a creative environment
