Revit Specialist - Colorado (Position Filled as of 08/04/10)

Summary:
The Revit Specialist is responsible for active, hands-on, assistance to Revit project teams. This will include developing processes, training material, and content, as well as teaching and providing expert advice to individuals and groups.

Primary Responsibilities:

General
  • Improve the quality, practice, and delivery of architecture to our clients
  • Work closely with the BIM Coordinator to understand systems and processes established
  • Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training
  • Find creative solutions to users problems through research and development
  • Attend approved conferences, seminars, and workshops for Revit
Training
  • Oversee the training of staff relating to Revit, with developed training processes
  • Provide mock project Revit training for new employees
  • Provide advanced training of mentors
  • Disseminate lessons learned information to staff
  • Conduct inter-office coordination meetings relating to Revit
  • Bring back learning from conferences and disseminating information to appropriate teams
  • Update internal Revit blog
Support Project Teams
  • Set up new files at the request of project teams
  • Monitor project files for conformance to standards and processes
  • Create project specific content at the request of project teams
  • Develop processes to assist project teams in tying LEED design provisions into Revit
Managing Standards and Libraries
  • Document and update standards and best practices
  • Monitor conformance to standards and processes
  • Maintain and upgrade templates and libraries
  • Maintain, organize, and continue to build the Revit content library
Periodic Support
  • Create upgrade and deployment strategies for Revit
  • Work with Autodesk to resolve major technical issues
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of real world experience, preferably in a Revit Management capacity, using Autodesk Revit Architecture
  • Construction background preferred
  • LEED AP preferred
  • Experience in commercial/medical projects preferred
  • Revit Structure/MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp and 3ds Max knowledge a plus
  • Communicate well, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have above average troubleshooting skills, strong analytical problem solving skills, and the ability to interpret technical questions
  • Have a special passion for Revit
  • Must be a Revit expert
  • Enjoy helping individuals and teaching groups
  • Understand basic design and building systems
  • Ability to understand all parts of Architectural Contract Documents
  • Experienced at leading and managing people
  • Care about quality
