BIM Technology Coordinator - Wakefield Beasley - Atlanta - GA

This role will participate in and support the office wide implementation of BIM related technologies and engage in the development, review, and adoption of BIM standards at the project level. The objective of the position is to ensure increased staff productivity when working with BIM enabled digital design projects.

The BIM Technology Coordinator must be able to:
  • Work alongside other design professionals as well as consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors, building system fabricators, and software service providers.
  • Support standardization and productivity improvement efforts through intelligent application of BIM/CAD concepts and company standards.
  • Modify, maintain, and assist in the production of standardized design software and design library configuration and graphic standards, with an emphasis on documentation, user application, and project adoption.
  • Modify, populate, train in the use of, and maintain, upgrade and improve Digital Design library.
  • Assist project teams in the utilization of BIM software(s) in support of interference checking, ad hoc view creation, and quantity takeoff generation.
  • Provide day to day BIM / CAD software(s) support and guidance to project teams and other BIM / CAD / IT support staff.
  • Maintain standards documentation and assist in the development of CAD/BIM support and standardization routines.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, and Sketchup.
  • Knowledge of Navisworks, 3DSMax Design, Infraworks 360, BIM360 Field/Glue, Lumion3D, Unity3D, and other BIM / CAD related design, visualization, and analysis software.
  • Experience using web-based collaborative software, project extranets, BIM / CAD Utilities, plotting techniques and coordination of BIM / CAD data input and output.
  • Additional desirable skills include AutoCAD / Revit customization and programming using scripts, visual lisp, dot net, Dynamo, etc.
  • Previous Architecture and or Interior Design experience is a definite plus.
  • Must be capable of adjusting to rapid changes in work conditions, rearranging priorities on short notice, and making on-the-spot decisions.
Key Departmental Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of BIM related software systems and procedures, adapting them to suit particular types of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of specific firm wide strategies and collaborate with local teams to insure BIM/CAD/Revit success.
  • Monitor Project team development and help identify future leaders in order to extend local support.
  • Work with project teams setting the standard for integration and coordination of project BIM model(s).
  • Work in conjunction with WBA BIM leadership in the development and continued improvement of the WBA BIM standards and design templates to maintain quality and consistency of design environment and deliverables.
  • Facilitate learning sessions in group or individual format to ensure standards are followed.
  • Coordinate and create content for company and specific studio family libraries.
  • Have the ability to respectfully assist associates, partners, and principals at all levels of technical ability. Ability to leave a good impression on internal clients.
List of Departmental Duties:
  • Provide one on one BIM / Revit / CAD support as required for all WB offices
  • Assist in the maintenance, modification, and enforcement of the WBA BIM / Revit / CAD standards.
  • Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions.
  • Provide assistance in the application of project standards in coordination with clients
  • Assist/Provide training of in-house BIM / CAD users.
  • Assist in the preparation of evaluation documents and presentation for future software adoption.
  • Provide configuration support for BIM / CAD installation and maintenance.
  • Review completed projects, identifying and coordinating re-usable details, families, and other content to support the continued expansion of the WBA content and detail library.
  • Conduct project related model reviews as requested
  • Assist in the management of digital printing and plotting issues. Troubleshooting them when they occur within BIM / Revit / CAD software applications.
  • Provide technical support and expertise in analyzing, identifying, and repairing problems related to delivery of BIM / Revit / CAD Production including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, Navisworks, Sketchup, 3DSMax Design, Infraworks 360, KIP, Lumion3D, BIM360 Applications, etc.
